(Rishitha Jaladi, Intern Journalist)Delhi: Lavasa will step down from his role to take up a post at the Asian Development Bank in Manilla. Lavasa has sent his resignation letter to Rashtrapati Bhavan and requested to free him by the 31st of August.
Election Commissioner Lavasa, who was next in the line to head the Commission, on Tuesday resigned from his post to take charge as Vice-President of the Philippines based Asian Development Bank, next month. Sh Sushil Chandra now 2nd senior-most in EC, next in line for CEC in April 2021; the 2nd time for an IRS association man after Sh TS Krishnamurthy. If Lasava had stayed on, would’ve overseen Assembly Polls in UP, W.Bengal, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Manipur& Goa, etc.
