Bajaj Auto is betting to remain aggressive on exports

(Anjali Shreya, Intern Journalist): Bajaj Auto is betting that the initial recovery from the demolition of COVID-19 in motorcycle sales in its export markets will help overcome the pandemic-related disruption at home, its chief financial officer said. The company, which also sells rickshaws and small commercial vehicles, is already the largest exporter of motorcycles from its domestic market, where sales have slowed due to local lockdowns.

“All our export markets were also affected but the recovery in India has been better,” said Soumen Ray in an interview to news agency Reuters late on Wednesday. “We will continue to be aggressive on exports.”
Mr. Ray said that 40–45 percent of the group motorcycle sales are in exports.
