(Namita Pradhan, Intern Journalist) Karnataka; Bengaluru to held lockdown from 8 pm on 14th July to 5 am on 22nd July to control the spreading of Coronavirus, Karnataka Chief Minister Bs Yediyurappa said on Saturday. The lockdown detailed guidelines are to be declared on Monday.
The essential supply which includes milk, vegetables, fruits, medicines, and groceries will remain open, the CM tweeted.
“I appeal to people to cooperate with the government, follow all guidelines, take all precautionary steps, and help us contain the pandemic,” he tweeted. He also said that the decisions were taken with experts’ suggestions to control the growing number of cases.
He also complimented the efforts of our frontline workers such as ASHA workers, doctors, medical staff, police, officials, and media who are working for the control of the spread of the virus.
Earlier the city was divided into eight zones and is monitored by ministers.
The Urban district of Bengaluru has the highest number of cases summarizing for more than half of the state,s new cases from the last few days.
With the increase in cases, the city has seen many issues as a long wait for the ambulance, struggle for hospital beds.
Several states have extended their lockdown due to the spike in Covid-19 cases.
