(Anjali Shreya, Intern Journalist): Assembly elections are due in Bihar a few months later. In such a situation, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has burnt the election bugle through a virtual rally on Monday. In his first virtual rally, he said that in view of the havoc of Corona, we started the lockdown before the center. Now the unlock has started. We are following the guidelines of the Center.
Hitting out at Lalu and Rabri, Nitish said what the people who were in power before we did. Look at the condition of cemeteries and temples. There was no siege of the cemetery nor measures to prevent idol theft. We laid siege to 6,099 cemeteries. Completed the construction of boundary walls in 226 temples to prevent idol theft in the temple. We completed the investigation of the Bhagalpur riots. When we got a chance to work, we set a target that it should not take more than 6 hours to reach the capital Patna from anywhere. This goal has been reached.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that what was happening in Bihar earlier. For 15 years, husband and wife ruled, mass genocide took place. Earlier people used to run away from witnessing, now they started witnessing. People used to go inside the house before evening. Rifles and guns were shown. Now the crime graph has declined. We took power in 2005 and since then we have been adopting zero tolerance on crime. Most of the crime in Bihar is due to land disputes. Apart from this, people did not divide the family among themselves, because the registry charge was very high. But now a symbolic registry charge of 100 rupees is charged for sharing in the family.
