(Ritambhara, intern journalist) Bihar: Shooter Shreyasi Singh, daughter of former Union Minister Digvijay Singh, joined the BJP on Sunday in the presence of leader Bhupendra Yadav. When Shreyasi joined the BJP, BJP General Secretary Arun Singh and Bihar Pradesh President Sanjay Jaiswal were also present. Shreyasi Singh may contest from Amarpur (Banka) or Jamui. This will depend on seat-sharing with the alliance partner.
Chirag Paswan, the National President of the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) currently represents the Jamui parliamentary constituency. The late father of the disciple has served as the Union Deputy Minister of Finance and Ministry of External Affairs. In 1998, he became the Union Minister of State for Railways in the NDA government led by Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He also served as Minister of State in the ministries of commerce and industry, railways, and external affairs. Shutrasi Singh’s mother Putul Kumari is a former MP from Banka. The Banka seat went to JDU’s account in the 2019 elections. Earlier there were speculations that Shreyasi Singh would contest on Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) ticket.
