(Riya Singh, Intern Journalist) Patna: The people of Budhaul in Bihar’s Gaya district are constructing a bridge over a river, that was pending since 1992, by themselves. They contributed money from their own pockets for the construction. “We have been demanding the construction of this bridge but the government did not fulfill it,” a villager said. In 2019, three people died after drowning, he added.
After decades of delay in completing the bridge, villagers took the matter into their own hands. Together they managed to complete the bridge. The bridge cuts significant distance for locals to commute across the river.
