Minister returned to the country after agreement with rebels
Yemen has been battling civil war for a long time. Many ministers of the government returned to Aden as part of an agreement with Prime Minister Saeed. The deal was signed last week with the separatists of the rival faction. Malik’s government is internationally recognized. He remained in exile most of the time during the years-long civil war. This government was operating from Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.
Yemen’s President Abed Rabbo Mansoor Hadi, living in Saudi Arabia, announced a cabinet reshuffle earlier this month. This was seen as a major step towards ending the ongoing fight with the separatists.
Yemen’s Saudi Arabia-backed government is at war with Iran-backed rebels. He has control over northern Yemen as well as the country’s capital Sanaa. Last year, rebels fired missiles at a military parade running in a military base in Aden. Many soldiers were killed in it.
