Immediately before the blast, an aircraft landed with the ministers of the new cabinet of the country. The explosion occurred near the plane as it landed. During this firing also took place. There are reports of 22 people killed in the blast. However, the figure may still increase. According to the report, Prime Minister Mein Abdul Malik Saeed was also present on the plane. There are no reports of any government minister being injured.
Officials at the airport say they have seen several bodies at the airport. The officials did not reveal their identity as they were not allowed to talk to the media. Debris and broken glass are seen near the airport building in pictures shared on social media after the incident.
Minister returned to the country after agreement with rebels
