BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe and BMW M8 Coupe Car Launched in India, Gets 100 kmph in 5.2 Seconds

Germany’s leading automobile manufacturer BMW (BMW) has launched its BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe (8-Series Gran Coupe) and BMW M8 Coupe (M-8 Coupe) in the Indian market. It is the most luxurious sports car ever made by BMW. The BMW dealership will make both of these cars available on order.

The engine        

The BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe gets a 3.0-litre 6-cylinder BS6 petrol engine. Apart from this, the company has given a 4.0 litre 8-cylinder twin power turbo engine in the BMW M8 Coupe. With the help of twin power turbo technology, the engine generates maximum power and is responsive even at low speeds. The engine generates power of 340 hp and peak torque of 500 Nm at 1,600-4,500 rpm. This car accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in just 5.2 seconds.

Design

The BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe is a 4-seater sports car, the most luxurious sports coupe car ever built by the company. The car gets four frameless doors, a longer wheelbase, and a coupe-style roof. It also gets a sporty interior, driver-foxed cockpit, large cabin space, sports car ambience. This car has a large panoramic sunroof that extends to the rear.

Features

Both the cars have the latest BMW operating system 7.0 which includes 3D navigation. Along with this, there is also a 12.3-inch digital instrument display behind the steering wheel and a 10.25-inch control display. Features like Park Assistant Plus with a rearview camera have been provided, which helps in easy parking of vehicles even in tight places due to greater control over braking, steering handling and acceleration.

Safety features

Talking about the safety features, both cars get BMW Safety Technology, which includes 6 airbags, attentiveness assistance, dynamic stability control (DSC), including dynamic traction control (DTC), anti-lock braking system (ABS), on auto. Electric parking brake included. Both rear seats get hold, side-impact protection, electronic vehicle immobilizer and crash sensors and ISOFIX child seats. Customers can also opt for BMW Night Vision, a feature that identifies the person.

Luggage space

Talking about the boot space of the car, the luggage compartment has a capacity of 440 litres. 40:20:40 Split backrest gives more flexibility and facilitates loading or unloading.

The price of the BMW 840i Gran Coupe starts at Rs 1.3 crore, while the BMW 840i Gran Coupe M Sport variant costs Rs 1.55 crore. While the BMW M8 Coupe is priced at Rs 2.15 crore.
