(Milcah Anila, Intern Journalist) Mumbai: Rangeela fame Urmila Matondkar, who came into politics from Bollywood, will soon enter the legislature. She will not be elected to the upper house from the ruling Shiv Sena in the upcoming elections to the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly.
According to Shiv Sena sources, Urmila will be nominated by the governor for the 12 vacant seats in the council. Maha Vikas Aghadi leaders, who met on Friday to discuss the selection of candidates, are reported to have taken a final decision to this effect. Responding to the latest news, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Routh said that the news that Urmila is being nominated for the council is true.
However, the leaders of the three parties discussed the issue once again and said that the list of candidates would be sent to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. Routh clarified that the final decision on this will be taken by the CM.
The list also includes Marathi actor Adesh Bandekar, singer Anand Shinde and senior leader Eknath Khadse. Khadse, who resigned from the BJP, recently joined the NCP. With this, the party leaders say that his election is almost finalized. Urmila Matondkar, who joined the party a few days before the Lok Sabha elections, left the Congress less than five months ago.
Allegations were made against party leaders that internal politics within the party led to his resignation. He blamed the lack of coordination among local leaders, the mobilization of activists at the field level, and the lack of funding for candidates in the election ring.
She joined the Congress party last March and contested from Mumbai North and lost to BJP candidate Gopal Shetty by 4.6 lakh votes. Shortly afterward, the Shiv Sena joined the party. Urmila has once again made headlines for her recent comments on Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut’s recent comments on Mumbai.
