(Harleen Kaur, Intern Journalist)Deoria: The bridge built by the Sugarcane Development Council in 1959-60 in the Ink River near Sikatia on Ratasia Pratappur Road of Bankata development block broke down on Thursday night due to heavy rains. Due to which the traffic has stopped. This is the main road connecting UP Bihar.
Due to the vegetable market in Bihar Mairava, farmers of dozens of villages including Ahiruli, Bankata, Bhadsar, Batrauli of the region keep coming to Bihar in connection with trade. Due to the breakdown of the route, people coming from the Pratappur area have to go through Ratsia Kothi. People coming from Bhatpararani have to go through Batrauli Persia.
AE Ajit Sonkar of Public Works Department Deoria told that the road has been closed now. This will be done as directed by the officers. Regional SP MLA Dr Ashutosh Upadhyay Bablu inspected the broken bridge and spoke to the officials.
