(Deepshikha Gautam, Intern Journalist) London: the UK funded National Health Service will provide free soup and shake to thousands of type 2 diabetes patients to lose weight across England from Tuesday. The NHS has taken initiative after showing improvement in the life expectancy of patients with low energy food.

NHS England said that diabetes costs the health service 10 million pounds every year and that one out of every 20 prescriptions written by doctors is related to the treatment of diabetes disease. NHS said that the 1 years diet plan would be adopted for those who would benefit from switching products, such as a low-calorie formula shake and soup that would be provided for 3 months with more exercise.
