(Rishika Iyer, Intern Journalist): In the Phaltan area of Satara district, burglars broke into a jewelry store and fled with over 780gm of gold. They broke into cupboards and showcases while wearing all the personal protective equipment like caps, hand gloves, plastic jackets, and masks.
CCTV footage showed the 2-day old incident which occurred during the coronavirus lockdown clearly showed people with complete PPE kits, said the police.
The shop owner lodged a complaint to the Phaltan police station. He said that the burglars robbed 78 tola (one tola is 10 gms) worth of gold. The police are currently investigating to find out more about the robbery.
