(Milcah Anila, Intern Journalist) New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken key decisions at a meeting of the Union Cabinet. The Cabinet on Wednesday approved productivity-based incentives worth Rs 2 lakh crore.
After the cabinet meeting, Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javdekar said the government had decided to implement the scheme in ten sectors to promote domestic manufacturing.
It has been applied to ten sectors such as pharma, auto, steel, telecom, textiles, food products, solar photovoltaic, and cell battery. The minister said the central government has allocated Rs 8,100 crore under feasibility gap funding to further boost public-private partnership schemes.
Prakash Javadekar said that steps will be taken to make the domestic manufacturing industry international. He said it would encourage investment in the manufacturing sector.
