(Aditya Shaw, Intern Journalist): The Calcutta High Court on Monday ordered that all the Durga Puja pandals across the state be declared as the prohibition of entry to control the spread of covid-19. A division bench of Justice Sanjib Banerjee and Justice Arijit Banerjee, while hearing a PIL, said that no visitors would be allowed to enter the pandal. The court ordered that for small pandals, barricades would have to be placed five meters from the entrance while for larger pandals this distance should be 10 meters. The bench said that barricades should have boards prohibiting entry. The court also said that only 15 to 25 people associated with the organizing committees will be allowed to enter the pandals.
