The company said in a statement that it has received permission from DGCI to market the antiviral drug favipirvir to the brand name Faviton.
The statement states that the drug will be in the form of 200 mg of tablet. Its maximum selling price of Rs 59 means that in any situation in the market it will not be sold for more than Rs 59. The statement said that the global clinical evidence surfacing suggests that favipiravir is an effective treatment option for the treatment of mild to moderate levels of coronavirus.

Faviton Fujifilm is the generic version of the drug Avigan from Toyama Chemical Corporation Limited.
