Aatmja Kumari(Intern Journalist): Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has congratulated the people of the state, including Bhojpuri society, for the Chhath festival. In his congratulatory message, he said that best wishes to all of you for “maha-khaye”, the first fast of “Chhath Puja”, the Mahaparva of the folk faith, symbolizing a pious feeling towards nature.
Like the previous festivals, the Chief Minister has also requested to celebrate the Chhath festival at home. He said that the corona is not yet completely finished but weakened. Avoidance is the best solution. In such a situation, fully comply with the standards of social distancing during the festival.
It may be noted that on Wednesday, Chhath Mahaparava started with Nahai-Khay. On November 19, women on small Chhath and Kharna begin a 36-hour waterless fast by consuming sixty rice and jaggery kheer (rasiv). The first will be on November 20. On November 21, the fast will end with Parana after Prasad distribution.
