(Kajal Singh intern journalist): Amid tensions between India and China over LAC, the Ministry of External Affairs has said that China has done an activity to disrupt normal patrolling of India.
New Delhi: India refuted the Chinese allegations that Indian troops crossed the border in Ladakh and Sikkim and infiltrated Chinese territory. It said that New Delhi has been taking a responsible approach towards border management.
External Affairs Ministry spokesman Anurag Srivastava said that it was the Chinese side which carried out the activities that had recently disrupted the normal patrolling of India in the regions. Srivastava said, “No such thing is true that Indian troops did any activity to cross the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the western sector or Sikkim sector.”
He said, “Indian soldiers are fully aware of the alignment of the Line of Actual Control in the Indo-China border areas and sincerely follow it.” The boundary line between India and China is called LAC.
Srivastava said, “Actually, it is the Chinese side which recently did the activity to disrupt the normal patrolling of India. The Indian side has always taken a very responsible attitude towards border management. At the same time, we are fully committed to ensuring India’s sovereignty and security. “China has accused India of unilaterally trying to change the status of non-fixed border in Ladakh.
