Ayodhya: Former Union minister Swami Chinmayanand, who was imprisoned for almost five months on charges of sexual exploitation of his law student in Shahjahanpur, arrived on Saturday in Ayodhya. Swami Chinmayanand, who was minister of state for housing in the government of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, arrived in Hanumangarhi in Ayodhya in silence. There he saw Hanumantlala and returned.
Swami Chinmayananda was due to arrive in Ayodhya on Friday, but keeping his visit private, he arrived late at night and stayed in a hotel at the crossroads. He went to Lucknow after seeing Hanumangarhi on Saturday morning. Chinmayanand is released on bail. Very few people knew of his arrival here, who was very close to him, knew of his visit.
After seeing Hanumangarhi, Chinmayananda silently left Lucknow from Ayodhya. During this time, Chinmayananda quickly sat down in his vehicle after seeing the media and remained silent without saying anything.
Swami Chinmayanand has been housed in Shahjahanpur prison for the past five months. He was released from prison on February 4 after getting bail from the Allahabad High Court. After leaving prison on bail, hundreds of people were offered food in the form of prasad after their ashram worship. Not only that, but the cadets of the National Cadet Corps also received the salute after receiving it. He had arrived at the Mumukshu Ashram with hundreds of his supporters.
After approval of the bond by the Superior Court, pooja was offered to Mumukshu Ashram and food was also served to Swami Chinmayananda’s supporters such as Prasad. After his release from prison on Wednesday, Chinmayanand also visited both universities on Thursday. He saw the layout of the university and later, he also wandered through the campus of the Mumukshu Ashram.
Swami Chinmayananda was accused of sexually abusing a student who studied at his own university, Swami Shukdevanand Law College. On November 16, the Allahabad High Court reserved the verdict on Swami Chinmayananda’s bail in the event of sexual harassment.
