Talking about gender-defining shifts that she would like to see in Bollywood she feels that the way women are depicted in cinema needs to be changed. “Woman is not supposed to be whitewashed, we have desires, ambition, physical needs and emotion, and the capacity to balance. I believe women have superpowers, and we need to see a lot more of that in cinema, She Said.
Talking a look at other aspects she said,”We put so much pressure on the male gender, telling them that they are meant to be strong they can’t cry or show emotions…which is wrong. She said that the age-old quotes like mard ko dard mahi hota which society follows till now needs to be changed.
The actor thinks that cinema can make a huge impact on the minds of audiences and it can change people’s mentality positively. ” I also feel that we need to stop objectifying women and there needs to be a lot more inclusively in films, including the LGBT community. I know the change is in the air. I just wish we could accelerate it”, said Pendeker.
