(Deepshikha Gautam, Intern Journalist) Kathmandu: Despite all the efforts of Chinese Ambassador Hao Yankee, the ruling Communist Party of Nepal is finally seen to be on the verge of a breakdown after long-standing differences. People close to Pushp Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, leader of the anti-faction of PM KP Sharma Oli, say that the Prime Minister has made up his mind to split the Communist Party.
Some leaders of the Communist Party say that Oli’s change in attitude has come after the visit of the RAW Chief to Nepal. Prachanda’s colleagues said that Oli said during a recent meeting that the party should be divided. According to a Kathmandu post report, Prachanda met Oli on Saturday after 11 days. After this, Dahal held a meeting with 5 of the 9 members of the Secretariat at his residence on Sunday. Party Spokesperson and Secretariat member Narayan Kazi Shrestha said that in this meeting Dahal told that Oli had told him that he would not call the secretariat meeting.
Shrestha told that not only this, Oli has also said that he will not accept the decisions of the party committee. He said, “According to Dahal, Oli said that if anyone has a problem, it is better to split the party.” Apart from Shreshtha at this meeting of Prachanda, Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa, party vice-president Bamdev Gautam, and senior leaders Jhala Nath Khanal and Madhav Kumar Nepal were present in the Oli cabinet. Earlier on Sunday, Bishnu Prasad Paudel, general secretary of Nepal Communist Party and taking charge of the finance ministry, said that his party was facing a grave threat to its existence. He said, ‘At this time, a serious crisis has arisen in front of the integrated and indivisible existence of the Communist Party of Nepal. I request all leaders, cadres, and member colleagues to contribute to the preservation of party unity. ‘
On the other hand, many leaders of the Nepal Communist Party say that since the birth of this party, it was facing struggles and the result was sure to come. Let us know that the Nepal Communist Party was founded by a merger between Oli’s CPN-UML and Dahal’s CPN (MC). Both of them came from different ideologies, so questions were raised about the future of this party. Differences began to emerge within a year and a half after the founding of the Nepal Communist Party. Political analysts say that on many occasions, Oli has had a confrontation between arrogance and Dahal’s ambition. Earlier on September 11, the two groups had reached an agreement.
After this, Prachanda and Oli factions maintained peace among themselves. Some party leaders say that things have started changing again after meeting with the Chief of India’s intelligence agency RAW on October 21.
