(Deepshikha Gautam, Intern Journalist) New Delhi: There was a fierce struggle between the government and the opposition in Rajya Sabha on Wednesday on the situation arising in the country from the coronavirus. Congress spoke of placing before the country the advantages and disadvantages caused by the lockdown that surrounded the government. At the same time, the government said that the decision of the lockdown was taken after the discussion with all the states. During the discussion, the opposition raised issues like lack of a database of migrant laborers, lack of beds, and black marketing in medicines. Congress leader Anand Sharma from the opposition, Derek O’Brien from Trinamool, Ravi Kishan Verma of SP took the front.
Congress leader Anand Sharma said, if the Government’s strategy was correct, Corona would not have reached the villages. He said the migrant labourers should get it compensation. He also suggested to create a national database. BJP MP Vinay Sahasrabuddhe retorted, saying that the Prime Minister and the Home Minister had a 15 minute meeting with the chief ministers to deal with the coronavirus. Nobody ever said in the meeting that there should not be a lock down.
