He said in a supplementary statement filed in the Supreme Court on Monday that he respects the court very much and everything he said was positive criticism with good intentions. Bhushan said that if he apologizes for it, then doing so would be contempt of his conscience and this institution which he respects very much.

The Supreme Court has held Prashant Bhushan guilty of contempt of court for making two tweets about Chief Justice SA Bobde and former four Chief Justices. The court had reserved its verdict on the last hearing on August 20, after hearing the debate on the issue of sentencing Bhushan, with the court giving Bhushan until August 24 to tender an unconditional apology on the tweets. The court will consider the matter again on Tuesday, August 25. Contempt provides for the jail of up to six months. However, instead of jail, the court can also give a penalty or any other symbolic punishment like a ban on appearing in court for some time.

In a written statement given by Bhushan to the court on Monday, he said that he was very sad to see the order of August 20, because, during the hearing on the case, the court said that he would consider him to consider the statement given in the court that day While giving the order of 2-3 days, but after seeing the order, the court has given him time to apologize unconditionally.
