Corona Virus Second Wave In UK
(Milcah Anila, Intern Journalist)New Delhi: The second phase of the coronavirus epidemic in England continues. While one lakh new cases are being registered per day at present, this number is likely to double every nine days.
It is expected that new cases of coronavirus will be registered at the rate of two lakh per day for the coming week. In the second stage, the coronavirus infects at least 85,000 people. The Sage Committee appointed on the Corona boom warned the England government last night that the second step was to enforce the ‘lockdown’ sanctions more aggressively than the first stage to bind the corona.
The Sage Committee, comprising researchers from Imperial College London, conducted tests from 16 to 25 October to find that the second phase of the corona epidemic had begun. Scientists are increasingly pressuring Prime Minister Boris Johnson to impose another “lockdown” or sanctions.
Researchers have warned that the number of deaths could rise sharply by the end of February next year, to 800 per day. The first phase of the coronavirus outbreak killed nearly 40,000 people. The researchers estimated that about 85,000 people would die in the two stages. That is, more than double. They examined 86,000 samples from across the country and concluded that the second phase of the virus was ongoing.
