The Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) allows its members to rectify the mistakes made in the Employees Provident Fund accounts (EPF Accounts). Many times there is a mistake in the EPF account of the employee, including the name, date of birth, and other information. Employees can rectify these mistakes in their IFF records online. After the introduction of Universal Account Number (UAN) in the year 2014, all the procedures related to EPF have become easier.
A universal account number is a 12-digit unique code. It links to the PF account of the EPFO member. Members can easily manage their EPF account online through UAN. The member’s UAN is required to be active to rectify mistakes in the EPF account. Also, it is necessary for the member to have an Aadhaar card.
The process of updating the information in a PF account is done in two stages. One phase is at the level of the employee and the second stage is at the level of the employer. Let us know how you can change the details of the EPF account.
