The bridge was built on Soti, a tributary of Gandak, and inaugurated on 16 June. Its cost is said to be around 264 crores. Gandak river is in spate due to rain. Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav lashed out at Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, calling it a case of corruption.

It was told that at the time of construction of this small bridge on Mahasetu road, boater picking was not done on both sides of the river. Due to this, the main road could not bear the pressure of water and in just six hours the 15-meter wide road was cut into a length of 20 feet and swayed away.
