(Riya Singh, Intern Journalist): The Bombay High Court on Tuesday issued a notice to the Center on a petition filed by an NGO, requesting that the media be prevented from reporting the investigation into the case involving Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. This is the third such petition filed in the Bombay High Court.
A bench headed by Chief Justice Dipankar Dutta is already hearing two petitions. A petition has been filed by filmmaker Nilesh Navlakha. Another petition has been filed by eight former police officials. The court has now set a joint hearing on these three petitions on 8th October.
The petition filed by NGO ‘In Pursuit of Justice’ requested that the media be prevented from publishing or broadcasting any material related to the case until a final decision on the application is made by the High Court. The petition states- Media reporting in Sushant’s case, all issues and non-issues related to the incident and media’s behavior is disturbing.
