(Deepshikha Gautam, Intern Journalist) Kochi: After the cyclone prevention, Kerala and Tamil Nadu are facing the threat of another Cyclone Storm Burevi. An area of intense pressure is forming in the Bay of Bengal, it is likely to turn into a cyclonic storm. The Meteorological Department said that the cyclonic storm is expected to reach South Tamil Nadu by December 4. Meanwhile, a heavy to very heavy rainfall alert has been issued in South Tamil Nadu on 2 and 4 December. According to the department, the cyclone will pass through the coastal areas of Sri Lanka this evening or night. Thereafter, on December 3, it is expected to reach the Gulf of Munnar and Kanyakumari. There is a possibility of strong winds and rain in Kerala from 2 December. Let me tell you that last week cyclone Prevention caused havoc in the state.
A cyclone warning cage has been installed at Pamban bridge in Tamil Nadu in view of Cyclone Hurricane Burwee. Along with this, teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have been deployed in Kerala, Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu, and Alappuzha. IMD has advised fishermen not to go to sea. Fishing has been banned from 1–4 December. Director of the Meteorological Center of Kerala, K Santosh told that the cyclonic storm will cross the coast of Sri Lanka in the evening or night of 2 December. With this, the process of strong winds will start with very heavy rains in different places of the state. Strong rains have been issued in parts of South-North Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, South-North Kerala, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Lakshadweep.
