(Aditya Shaw, Intern Journalist): Pollution levels in the national capital Delhi and its surrounding areas have reached critical condition. The worst is in Noida in NCR. The air index of cities of Delhi-NCR fell in the ‘severe category’ above 400. The PM 2.5 level in Noida reached 610 on Friday. At the same time, in many areas of Delhi even today the level of PM 2.5 is above 500. Delhi University’s air quality index is 540 and IIT Delhi’s figure is 563.
The pollution level in Delhi is ‘severe’. PM 2.5 overall stands at 486 in Delhi. In Pusa, PM 2.5 level is 495 while in Gurugram (PM 2.5 level is 462).
According to the Central Pollution Control Board, the air quality in the Gurugram of Haryana is very poor.
Air quality levels in the national capital Delhi continue to deteriorate. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, the air quality index is 422 in Anand Vihar, 407 in RK Puram, 421 in Dwarka Sector 8, and 430 in Bawana. The air quality in all these places is in the ‘severe category’.
It is worth mentioning that AQI between 0 and 50 is “good”, between 51 and 100 “satisfactory”, between 101 and 200 “moderate”, between 201 and 300 “bad”, 301. And between 400 is considered “very bad” and between 401 and 500 is considered “serious”.
