(Milcah Anila, Intern Journalist)Srikakulam: The statue of the late Chief Minister and former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy statue was vandalized by unidentified persons at Bhamini Mandal Korama in Srikakulam district.
The statue was uprooted and brought down. The incident took place on Tuesday night. The statue was unveiled on September 2 by DCCB Chairman Palavilasa Vikrant. Police arrived at the scene and launched an investigation. Palakonda MLA V Kalavati and DCCB chairman Palavilasa Vikrant condemned the incident.
He said there was no dispute in the village over the setting up of the statue. Locals and YSSR Congress party fans have expressed concern over the demolition of the YSSR statue. They demanded that the culprits are identified and legal action is taken.
