It has been reported that ‘dinosaur eggs’ have been found in the Perambalur district of Tamil Nadu. And then photos like those Dinosaur Eggs went viral on social media. Finally, experts concluded that they were not dinosaur eggs, but ammonite sediments. A team of local geologists and archaeologists visited the site and clarified that the ‘dinosaur eggs’ found in Perambalur was not.

Ammonite (ammonoid) fossils are a large and diverse group of marine species that emerged during the Devonian period about 416 million years ago. He denied the rumors that these were dinosaur eggs. Some marine species are said to have survived in the form of fossils. In June, however, two students, Jack Bonjour and Theo Vickers were found to have ammonoid compounds that weighed nearly 210 pounds. These are locally advertised as dinosaur eggs.

However, experts say that Ariyalur and Perambalur in Tamil Nadu were once a seabed. This explains why some of the fossils that remained on the seabed millions of years ago later turned into fossils. It has been suggested that the ammonite organisms currently found bear a close resemblance to octopus and cuttlefish.
