Saloni Subha ( Intern Journalist ) India men’s hockey team captain Manpreet Singh told about the afternoon of 7 August, Friday, when he and few other players of his team were informed by the authorities that they had tested positive for the covid-19.

It was quite shocking. The first reaction was how it can be possible. My parents, family, and friends all tested positive for the virus. The mind was full of so many questions that told Manpreet in an interview.

When we arrived at the camp, we went into a 14 day quarantine period. Later, I realized that I was losing my sense of taste. I undertook the RT-PCR test and was found to be infected by the virus.

The later doctor told that there is nothing to panic and I would be able to overcome this disease. The problem is the stigma attached to the virus. To all those people infected with the coronavirus, I would say that I am a survivor and have successfully defeated the disease. If you remain positive in your thoughts, follow the advice of doctors take your medicine, follow mask and social distancing measures, and self-isolate. All of us like me can defeat the virus, he said.
