(Anjali Shreya, Intern Journalist): In Patna, the capital of Bihar 15 minutes after taking off from the runway of Jai Prakash Narayan Airport, the SpiceJet flight to Amritsar had to make an emergency landing back. The flight had a technical fault on Sunday. This created an atmosphere of chaos for a while. After half an hour of flying, the aircraft was re-landed at Patna Airport. The aircraft carried 65 passengers. An emergency landing caused panic among the passengers. All the passengers got upset. Passengers were upset for a long time.
Later, the passengers came to know that there was a technical fault in the engine of the aircraft. This is why an emergency landing has been done. After this, all the passengers calmed down and started waiting for another flight to Amritsar again. Later, after fixing the technical fault of the engine, all the passengers were taken to Amritsar safely by the same flight at 7.30 pm.
SpiceJet flight SG3723 from Patna to Amritsar took off from the airport at around 11.30 am. Only 15 minutes later, the pilot came to know of a technical fault in the engine. By this time the aircraft had reached far. The pilot reported this to Patna Control. On receiving the signal from the control, the aircraft was diverted back to Patna Airport. After about half the time of flying, the aircraft was airlifted at Patna Airport at 12 noon. An attempt was made to correct the engine malfunction by sending 65 passengers aboard the security hold area. Spice Jet Management arranged meals for passengers at the airport. After about two hours, a team of engineers from outside arrived and started fixing the engine malfunction. The engine malfunction occurred about four hours after the hard work of the engineers. At 7.30 pm, the passengers were taken to Amritsar safely by the same flight.
