Preparations are on to block Jaipur-Delhi and Delhi-Agra Expressways on Saturday. Delhi Police has increased security arrangements on the borders. Farmers are coming to Delhi from many parts of the country including Punjab and Haryana.
The Delhi Traffic Police has deployed forces at important borders so that commuters are not disturbed. The central government has again offered to negotiate with the farmers’ organizations, but little progress has been made. On the Chilla border between Delhi and Noida, farmers also performed a yajna for ‘goodwill’ to the government.
The Delhi Police on Saturday tweeted to the passengers and informed them about the closure of Singhu, Auchandi, Piyau Maniyari, and Mangesh borders. People have been advised to come from Lampur, Safiabad, Saboli, and Singhu school toll tax limits. Police said the route has been changed from Mukarba and GTK Road, so people should avoid going on Outer Ring Road, GTK Road, and National Highway-44. The Chilla and Ghazipur borders have been closed for traffic from Noida and Ghaziabad due to the demonstration, so Anand Vihar, DND, Apsara, and Bhopra borders can be used to come to Delhi.
