(Harleen Kaur, Intern Journalist) After the new delimitation, the Bathnaha assembly seat near the Nepal border came into existence in the year 2008 and came under the category of reserved assembly seat. After this, BJP’s Dinkar Ram hoisted the flag of victory both in the 2010 and 2015 Vidhan Sabha elections held here.
This time the major parties have played bets on new faces here. This seat is in BJP’s quota from NDA and has made Anil Ram its candidate. On the other hand, this seat went to the Congress account on behalf of the Grand Alliance, on whose ticket Sanjay Ram is in the election ground. The RLSP has named Chandrika Paswan as its candidate. A total of 14 candidates are trying their luck from here. Significantly, many veterans were queuing up here for the BJP ticket. Seating MLA Dinkar Ram also wanted tickets for his grandson. However, the party gave tickets to Anil Ram. In this way, there is also a strong fear of betrayal in the party’s third-time victory.
A similar situation can be said in the Grand Alliance too. The RJD had a strong claim to the ticket from here, but eventually, this seat went to the Congress quota, which has fielded Sanjay Ram. In this way, despair and gloom are being said in the inner RJD supporters. On the other hand, Chandrika Paswan of RLSP has also participated in the election summer from all over. But the main contest can be said only in BJP-Congress.
