(Manisha Mahar, Intern Journalist); Some attackers burst into an unregistered drug rehabilitation center in Guanajuato state in central Mexico. The open firing killed 24 people, while seven were injured. Police say that the attackers have not kidnapped anyone. The cause of the incident has not been ascertained till now.
According to the news agency, Guanajuato State Police said the attack occurred in the city of Irapuato. Three of the seven injured are in critical condition. In Guanajuato, there has been a bloody clash between the Mexican crime group Jalisco Cartel and a local gang for a long time.
Two attacks in the city within 1 month
The governor of Guanajuato State says that the drug trafficking group may be involved in the attack. It was the second such attack in Irapouto during the last month. In 2010, 19 people were killed in an attack in the city of Chihuahua, northern Mexico.
