(Riya Singh, Intern Journalist): Despite the decrease in the water level of many rivers in North Bihar, the risk of floods and erosion in most of the districts has not decreased yet. In different districts, the water level of Bagmati, Gandak, and Budhi Gandak fluctuated on Friday. Meanwhile, the flooding of Lakhandei in Aurai led to floodwaters reaching many villages.
The movement of people in the area was disrupted due to the water flowing on the roads. The broken embankment of Lakhandei is flowing the water towards the village. The water level of Lakhandei is continuously increasing. Looking at the news, the team of Disaster Management and Water Resources Department is on alert.
The water level of Gandak in Rewaghat was recorded at 52.94 meters with a danger mark of 54.41 meters. At Sikandarpur, the water level of Budhi Gandak remained at 48.53 meters. Bagmati Kataujha in Sitamarhi on the other hand has been above the danger mark for the fourth day. Although its water level is decreasing.
