(Anjali Shreya, Intern Journalist): The flood-hit Bihar has intensified. Hundreds of villages in Gopalganj, Motihari, Samastipur, and Muzaffarpur have been submerged. To save lives, people leave home and livestock and take refuge in the National Highways and other high altitudes. Rivers are showing rage. Villagers are being absorbed in water. The Gandak river is flowing over the road in Motihari.
12 districts of Bihar are flood affected and floods have affected about 1 million population. On Sunday, the flood situation in Bihar became more serious and 5 more people died due to floods. About 40 lakh people are affected by floods in Assam and Bihar.
The population of 14,95,132 people in 11 districts of Bihar is affected by floods and 13,6,464 people have been evacuated to safe places. According to information received from the Water Resources Department, the Bagmati river, Budhi Gandak, Kamla Balan, Lalbakia, Punpun, Adhwara, Khiroi, Mahananda and Ghaghra river are still flowing above the danger mark at various places.
