(Milcah Anila, Intern Journalist)Vijayawada: Former CBI director Ashwani Kumar has committed suicide. He was found dead at his home in Shimla. He has previously served as the Governor of Nagaland and Manipur. He also served as the DGP of Himachal Pradesh. However, he seems to have been under mental stress for the last while. That is why the information that he committed suicide.
As soon as the matter was known, the police reached Ashwani Kumar’s house. He was taken to Indira Gandhi Medical College. Doctors have already confirmed that he is dead. SP Mohit Chawla said Ashwani Kumar’s death was shocking. He reminded many that he was ideal for the police.
Many were shocked at Ashwani Kumar’s suicide.
Ashwani Kumar is an IPS officer from the Himachal Pradesh cadre. He also served as the DGP of the state from August 2006 to July 2008. He served as the Governor of Nagaland from 2013 to one year. He later served as the Governor of Manipur.
