Aatmja Kumari(Intern Journalist): Former Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh died today at the age of 64. He was running ill for the last several days. He was undergoing treatment at a hospital in Singapore. A few days ago his kidney was transplanted. He died on Saturday afternoon. Amar Singh has been the former general secretary of the Samajwadi Party as well as a Rajya Sabha MP. He remained very close to SP founder Mulayam Singh Yadav. Amar Singh was also once the leader of Samajwadi Party’s number two position. However, in 2010, he resigned from all posts of the party. Later, he was also dismissed from the party.
