(Deepshikha Gautam, Intern Journalist) Faridkot: A case has been reported of a person committing suicide by setting fire to his wife and two children in village Kaler in Faridkot district of Punjab. The deceased was originally identified as 40-year-old Dharampal, a resident of District Sikar in Rajasthan, who had been living in village Kaler for the last 10 years with his wife Seema (36), daughter Monika (15), and son Hatish Kumar (10). Dharampal used to work as a scribe on a brick kiln on Dhudi Road here. Police have also recovered a suicide note during the primary investigation, in which he has held a person named Shanti involved in the brick kiln business along with the lockdown to take this step. Police are now investigating the case on its basis.

The people of village Kaler told that this family has lived here for the last several years and was upset due to the business being affected due to the lockdown. This morning the villagers noticed that smoke was coming out of his house and no sound was coming from the house. Immediately the villagers converged on the spot and broke the door of the house, and all the family members were badly engulfed in the fire. On getting the information about the incident, the top officials of the district police reached the spot and started the work of investigation. In this case, DSP Satwinder Singh Virk said that the police are closely investigating the whole matter and action will be taken on the basis of whatever facts are revealed.
