(Deepshikha Gautam, Intern Journalist) Kasganj: The goods train crashed on the Kasganj-Kanpur rail route in the early hours of Tuesday. Seven bogies of the goods train have overturned, while 20 bogies have derailed. Railway officials were stirred as soon as the incident was reported. An accident relief vehicle has reached the spot.
The bogies are being removed. The incident is from Patiali area of Kasganj district. According to the information, the goods train was traveling from Kanpur towards Kasganj. Around four o’clock in the morning, the goods van overturned after derailing. The bogies are lying on the far side of the railway track. The wheels of the bogey are broken. Some bogies are penetrated into each other. It is a matter of pride that only one or two passenger trains run on this train route a week. Otherwise, a big accident could have happened. The rail route has come to a complete standstill since the incident. The OHE line has also been damaged due to goods overturning.
Officials of Izatnagar Railway Division Bareilly have left for investigation. Public Relations Officer (PRO) Rajendra Singh said that the goods trains have derailed on the Kasganj-Kanpur rail route. The incident is being investigated. Relief work is being done at the site of the incident.
