Biden, who set a record as one of the youngest senators in American history, is now set to set another record as the oldest president. He has previously been elected senator six times.
He ran for the presidency in 1988 and 2008 but failed to win within the Democratic Party. Achieved what was expected on the third attempt. Biden has twice served as vice president during Barack Obama’s presidency.
