(Pooja Pal: Journalist): Major general-level talks between the two sides took place after the bloody clash between India and China in the Galvan Valley of Ladakh. 10 Indian soldiers, including 4 officers, have been returned by the Chinese military after the talks.
A brutal confrontation took place between the Indian and Chinese army on 15 June in Galvan, Ladakh in which 20 Indian soldiers were martyred. Now after conversing with China on Thursday, about 10 soldiers have been returned. However, the army hasn’t stated the same officially till date.
Since the brutal confrontation with China, the situation on the LAC is very tense. Concurrently, the US is constantly monitoring the border confrontation between India and China. US Secretary of State-Mike Pompeo has expressed deep condolences to the Indian soldiers who died in the violence.
Contrastingly, PM Narendra Modi has called a meeting for all parties at 5 pm. The Presidents of different parties will attend this meeting. However, this will be a virtual meeting in which all parties will be informed about the ongoing tension with China for the past few days.
