Know what was the matter
In 2008, a 14-year-old teenager went missing from a locality in Kalpi under suspicious circumstances. Her mother had registered six cases including kidnapping, rape after the murder and the Scheduled Caste Atrocities Prevention Act, etc. under the relevant sections, including the municipal officer, the councilor. She also accused the then BSP MLA. Four months later, the body found in Ghatampur was identified by the mother as her daughter. Although the body’s face was difficult to identify, the mother claimed the dead body to be her daughter.
When the police did not arrest the accused after finding the dead body, the teenager’s mother had threatened to commit self-immolation by staging a protest in front of the DM office. In the case, the government handed over the investigation to the CBCID when the then BSP MLA was accused. The CBCID gave a clean chit to the then MLA after investigation but arrested the other accused and sent them to jail. Along with this, the charge sheet was also filed in the court. One woman accused died in jail in 2012, while the other accused came out of jail on bail.
