(Satya Havilah, Intern Journalist) New Delhi: On Thursday, gold prices surged by Rs. 185 to Rs. 52,240 per 10 grams at futures trade on speculators buying fresh deals due to strong spot demand. At the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold futures delivered in December rose by Rs. 185, or 0.36 percent, to Rs. 52,240 per 10 grams. It traded for 12,975 lots. Market analysts said fresh buying by traders led to a rise in gold prices. Gold rose 0.18 percent to $ 1,950.40 an ounce in New York.
