(Namita Pradhan, Intern Journalist) The center is focusing on creating the 30,000 farmer producers organizations (FPOs) in the next 10 years and with an incentive of 10,000 FPOs in February that may be extended to all new ventures of such types. The focus on FPOs is significant after three major legal reforms in the field of agriculture which is implemented in the last month.
“There is potential in building 30,000 FPOs in India and which is possible in creating it by 2030. We all need to work in achieving the target,” Ashok Dalawai, CEO, National Rainfed Area Authority (NRAA), and chairman, Empowered Body, Doubling Farmers’s income, said on Thursday at the on-line conference of CEOs of 200 farmers from the states of Maharastra, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh. The MahaFPC has organized the training of these CEOs to address various issues such as capacity building, scaling up operation, credit, and equality.
