(Rishitha Jaladi, Intern Journalist) Guntur: Dead bodies, piled up huge numbers at Guntur Government general hospital. Yet neither, the hospital staff nor the government officials took charge of it. A corpse found lying, in the OP ward no 14 from Saturday till Sunday 11 am. While another was found near Prasad Millennium block.
All the patients visiting the hospital are moving around these cadavers. Sunday, these pictures were telecasted in a private News channel. It, then the hospital management cleared them. The details of the dead are not revealed.
The hospital mortuary is already filled with more than 30 dead bodies. The COVID patient’s dead bodies are not taken back by their relatives. Hence, the hospital management is in a dilemma, to decide further about the dead bodies. A few patients come to the hospital for treatment and die, Their relatives are leaving them all alone suspecting they are COVID affected.
This issue is already taken to the notice of the district collector JC. The Graveyard in Guntur has the facility to cremate just four dead bodies in a day. This is the real concern now and taken to the note of Commissioner. This issue will be resolved soon, Said Officials.
