The number of new women voters has increased. Some 30 thousand and more than 40 thousand new women voters have been formed in the districts, whose attitude will show the impact on the election results.
It is interesting that this increase in the number has been reflected in the last one year and the increase has also crossed 40 thousand in some districts. In Samastipur itself, a 48 thousand increase was recorded. These new women voters from various districts including Muzaffarpur, P. Champaran, East Champaran, Vaishali, Sitamarhi, Darbhanga will change the appearance of elections with a significant role. There is a relatively higher number of women in urban areas. Parties that give fewer seats to women may have to bear the brunt of this. This time the emphasis of half the population voicing their issues in the elections has also increased. Women in the districts are campaigning to raise their issues by forming groups. In the Legislative Assembly too, they are seeking to increase their numbers.
Not only this, but women are also raising the demand to include issues like women’s safety and economic promotion in the manifesto of the parties. They also got special morale behind raising their voice vigorously. Statistics show that the percentage of women voting has also increased in the last elections compared to men. Women are firmly on their side without that. Women social workers like Vandana Sharma, Poonam Kumari, Sangeeta Kumari of Muzaffarpur, associated with various women’s organizations, say that we have all raised our voice through a platform ‘Janghosh’. If our votes are valuable, then also consider our important party. Some districts where there was a significant increase in women voters: In 2019, the number of women voters in Muzaffarpur district was 14 lakh 53 thousand, which has increased to 14 lakh 87 thousand this time.
This time the figure is 11 lakh 52 thousand 726 in P. Champaran. Last year it was 11 lakh 21 thousand 208. This time there are 15 lakh 59 thousand women voters in East Champaran. Last year it was 15 lakh 26 thousand. There was 10 lakh 72 thousand in Sitamarhi, which has reached 11 lakh nine thousand 668 this time. In Darbhanga, the figure of 12 lakh 66 thousand 164 has reached 12 lakh 88 thousand 958. In Vaishali, the figure of 11 lakh 6 thousand 895 has reached 11 lakh 13 thousand 482. Last year in Samastipur, the figure was 12 lakh 93 thousand, which has come down to 13 lakh 41 thousand 167 this time.
