(Manisha Mahar, Intern Journalist); Filmmaker Shailesh R Singh, who is making the film Thalaivi with popular actress Kangana Ranaut, has now announced the creation of a web series on the controversial encounter of criminal Vikas Dubey of Kanpur. Shailesh R Singh will be the director of this web series Hansal Mehta, with whom Shailesh has previously made popular films like ‘Shahid’, ‘Aligarh’, and ‘Omerta’.
Vikas Dubey, who was in the limelight in the murder of eight policemen in the Bikeru incident, surrendered at the Mahakal temple in Ujjain and was killed in an alleged attempt to escape from the police on his way back to Kanpur with the Uttar Pradesh police. Shailesh R Singh intends to make a film on a media trial lasting almost a week between the Bikeru scandal to Vikas encounter.
Web Series director Hansal Mehta has thanked Shailesh R Singh for giving this opportunity and said that work on its story is about to begin soon. The shooting of the film will begin next year. Films under production by Shailesh R Singh include Kangana Ranaut’s film ‘Thalaivi’, Sunny Kaushal, and Nusrat Bharucha’s film ‘Huddang’ and Ajay Devgn, Siddharth Malhotra and Rakulpreet Singh’s Thank God. Last year, Shailesh made ‘Jabariya Jodi’ and ‘Judicial Hai Kya’ films.
