Aatmja Kumari(Intern Journalist): Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed to give compulsory retirement by marking corrupt and incompetent policemen above 50 years of age in Uttar Pradesh Police. District officials have started searching for such policemen in this regard. During the marked process, a list of names of policemen will be sent to the government. After this, they will be compulsorily retired.

ASP Sarvesh Kumar Mishra said that the Chief Minister has issued instructions to forcibly retire him, taking drastic disciplinary steps against corrupt and careless policemen and officers of the police department, which tarnished the image of the government and the department. In this regard, a letter has been sent to SP Sanjeev Suman from the office of Director General of Police. The letter has given instructions to screen the policemen who have completed 50 years of age. The SP committee has been constituted by the SP to mark such policemen.

Screening of policemen coming from sepoy to station in-charge inspector will be made by the officers involved in the committee. Out of a total of 1708 policemen in the district, about seven hundred policemen have crossed the age of more than 50. Of these, policemen who are often absent, not performing departmental work properly, indulging in corruption, or found incapable of work will be identified. Apart from this, the cases filed against the policemen and their character role will prove to be important in the market process. A list of policemen will be made and sent to the government. On getting approval from the government, compulsory retirement of such policemen will be given.

During the tenure of the then SP Superintendent of Police, Dr. Yashveer Singh, strict action was taken against two corrupt and careless policemen. These policemen were often accused of being absent, corruption, not doing departmental work. Both the accused were over 50 years of age.
